Sitting down and committing to a study session is always tough. Do you know what makes it worse? Not having a good snack! Having a good (and healthy) snack can not only cure your after school hunger, but also help your body stay energized and healthy. Here are some snacks you can make that are quick, healthy, and tasty. *NOTE: PLEASE CONSULT WITH YOUR DOCTOR FIRST BEFORE TRYING ANY OF THE FOLLOWING RECIPES & STOP CONSUMING IMMEDIATELY IF AN ALLERGIC REACTION OCCURS*

1- Rice Cakes w/ Peanut butter and Bananas

Step 1: Buy some original non-flavored rice cakes

Step 2: Grab some peanut butter and spread onto the rice cake ( Sunflower Butter if you are allergic to peanuts and/or tree nuts)

Step 3: Place sliced bananas on top and enjoy!

Benefits: Any form of nut butter has high amount of protein which helps build strong muscles and bones. Bananas are a great source of fiber which promotes good digestion.

2- Mashed Avocado (or Hummus) on a Bagel

Step 1: Mash up one avocado. Add salt, pepper, and a pinch of garlic powder then mix together. (DON'T add salt, garlic, or pepper if you replace avocado with hummus)

Step 2: Grab a bagel (toast the bagel if you'd like)

Step 3: Spread mix onto bagel and enjoy!

Benefits: Not only can avocado keep you full while you study, but it's high in fiber which will help you "empty" any leftover waste in your body. Although avocado is high in healthy fat it can aid in weight loss as well. If you used hummus there are benefits such as anti-inflammatory benefits that can help fight infections and keep healthy blood sugar levels.

3- Fruit Pizza

Step 1: Grab some unsalted crackers (Wheat Thins and Triscuits are also great options)

Step 2: Mix some cream cheese and honey and spread on crackers (No cream cheese or honey? Use whipped cream)

Step 3: Add berries (strawberries, kiwis, or blueberries) on top.

Benefits: Cream cheese is low in fat and honey is great for those who want to maintain balanced iron levels (always feeling cold? might be low iron levels ). Adding fruits provide natural sugar (natural is always better) and provide antioxidants which promotes healthy skin (say goodbye to that acne!)

4- Celery w/ Peanut Butter and Dark Chocolate Chips

Step 1: Get some fresh celery sticks

Step 2: Spread some peanut butter on the celery sticks (Sunflower butter if you're allergic to peanuts & tree nuts)

Step 3: Add some dark chocolate on top

Benefits: Celery is great for the digestive system while peanut butter (or any natural nutty butter) is high in protein that help build healthy muscles and bones. Dark chocolate helps blood flow which is great for keeping track of those algebra equations.

**Please remember to inform your parent or guardian before you start embracing your inner Gordon Ramsay and attempt to make these fun snacks** ENJOY!
